549 days after FC Bayern Munich fans made their last appearance at the Audi Dome, the team announced that it will open up its doors for 5,750 fans in the upcoming 2021-22 season.
With the implementation of the 14th Bavarian Infection Protection Ordinance, home games of the German club can now host up to a 90% capacity in Audi Dome. All spectators are required to wear face masks, while there are no distance rules, which means there are no restrictions on the choice of seats for groups or individual visitors. In order to gain entry, fans must be either vaccinated, recovered or currently tested negative for COVID-19.
Bayern is expected to welcome its fans back in the pre-season “MagentaSport Cup 2021” (September 11-12), with the participation of Panathinaikos, Crvena Zvezda and Virtus Bologna.
The BBL season starts September 26th against Ulm and the first home game of the new EuroLeague season will be against FC Barcelona (October 7).
